Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-26. This policy describes how GT Labs ("we", "us") treats information when you use the Smolder mobile application.
Summary
Smolder is designed so your relationship content — custom prompts you write, photos you save to Memories, and Whisper chats between paired phones — stays on your devices. We do not operate a social network or cloud backup of your prompts, gallery, or peer messages.
We still integrate platform services (Apple in-app purchases) and, where enabled in the app, third-party SDKs such as Google Mobile Ads for rewarded video. This policy explains those flows in plain language.
Who we are
Smolder is published by GT Labs. For privacy questions, contact support@gtlabs.com.
Information we do not collect centrally
- Custom prompts you create in the app are stored locally on your device only.
- Memories (photos you choose to save from supported flows) are stored locally for the session model described in the app; they are not uploaded to our servers.
- Whisper messages are exchanged directly between two paired devices using Apple's local networking frameworks (Bluetooth / local Wi‑Fi). We do not route, store, or moderate the content of those messages on our infrastructure.
Apple in-app purchases (StoreKit)
When you buy a subscription or non-consumable product, Apple processes payment and provides us with transaction identifiers and subscription status through StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment card number from Apple.
Auto-renewing subscriptions: Subscription terms, billing frequency, and cancellation are managed in your Apple ID account settings. If you cancel, you retain access until the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise by Apple.
Advertising & analytics
The app may offer optional rewarded video ads (for example, to earn in-app tokens). Those ads are served through the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). Depending on your choices and Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, the ad SDK may access device advertising identifiers or similar signals as described in Google's and Apple's documentation.
Apple may also provide aggregated crash diagnostics or analytics when you opt in at the OS level. We use that information to improve stability.
Local device networking
Whisper uses peer-to-peer connectivity (MultipeerConnectivity) between two devices that you intentionally pair. Data does not pass through GT Labsservers for that feature. You should still treat local transmissions as sensitive: only pair with someone you trust, on networks you trust.
Age requirement
Smolder is intended only for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Legal bases & retention (EEA/UK framing)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on contract (to provide the app and purchases), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement), and consent (where required for tracking or ads), as applicable. Because most intimate content stays on-device, we retain very little relationship content on our systems. Purchase records obtained via Apple are retained according to Apple's policies and our accounting/legal obligations.
Your rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to object to processing. Contact support@gtlabs.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
International users
If you use Smolder outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our processors operate, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new effective date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be surfaced in the app or on the App Store listing where appropriate.
